Food photography - how to get mouth watering images of food

Food photography is not just about taking pictures of food. A food photograpoher needs a variety of skills and the ability to take a photograph is not the most of these. The food photographer needs to have complete control of lighting, with the ability to kabuki-foodcapture the textures, moisture and the succulence of the food.

The next most important skill is the ability to style food, to prop it and to manipulate it so that it pleases visually. The food photographer must also have the ability to completely control perspective, depth of field and depth of focus.

Finally, the food photographer requires patience combined with the ability to move quickly once the hero dish is in place, as food deteriorates quickly once on set. All of this is required to create great food photography.

Great product, people and places photography too

While we love to shoot food, we’re equally passionate about photographing people and place, either on location or in our studio. We’re happy shooting jewellery, flatware, cars (we love cars!), resorts, restaurants, property - in fact, just about any kind of advertising image is our bread and butter. We’ve won a lot of awards doing it, too. But our motivation is simply to create breathtaking, motivating images for our clients. What better occupation could there be?
